Future Projects and Strategic Initiatives
Designing Innovative, Collaborative Solutions for Sustainable Transboundary Water Management
Our projects are currently under development, as the UNESCO Chair continues to establish a strong foundation for impactful and collaborative initiatives. While no formal projects have been launched yet, significant efforts are underway to design programs that address key challenges in transboundary water management and governance. These upcoming projects will focus on integrating advanced scientific research, capacity building, and policy support to deliver practical and sustainable solutions. Priority areas include climate change adaptation, water allocation strategies, and the use of modern technologies such as GIS and remote sensing. The Chair is also actively engaging with regional and international partners to co-develop projects that respond to real-world needs. Each initiative will be designed to promote cooperation among countries sharing water resources, particularly within the African context. In addition, future projects will emphasize inclusivity by involving young professionals and women in leadership roles. The Chair is committed to ensuring that all projects align with global sustainable development goals and regional priorities. As planning progresses, more details will be shared with stakeholders and the public. These future projects will reflect the Chair’s vision of fostering innovation, collaboration, and long-term water security.
